Handspring Visor Battery Installation Guide

The instructions below come with no warranty or guarantee, improper assembly or use of excessive force may result in damage to the parts involved or to your PDA/Mp3 Player. These instruction require a moderate level of technical ability and proficiency in the use of hand tools, as well as a general understanding of electronic components. Buyer assumes full responsibility for the installation of this replacement battery.

Step 1:

Using the included screwdriverscrewdriver.jpg (11606 bytes) remove the six screws from the case.

Step 2:

Using your fingers, pry open the case starting with one of the top corners of the PDA. The back of the case should easily unsnap from the rest of the PDA.

Step 3:

Once the case is separated, the back of the case will still be attached to the rest of the motherboard by a speaker wire. Carefully turn over the back of the case, giving you access to the PDA battery.

Step 4:

With the back of the case removed, the battery can be moved freely, giving you better access to the battery connector. Disconnect the battery connector by gently pulling on the black and red power cable.

Please pay attention to the original orientation (power cable towards the top of the PDA). Connect the power cable of the new battery by positioning it within the socket on the motherboard, pushing it in.

Snap on the cover and put back the six screws.

Your new battery will need a minimum of three hours of charging before first use.
