The instructions below come with no warranty or guarantee, improper assembly or use of excessive force may result in damage to the parts involved or to your PDA/Mp3 Player. By utilizing these instructions, you agree to hold Laptops For Less blameless and unaccountable for damages or problems caused by use of these instructions. These instruction require a moderate level of technical ability and proficiency in the use of hand tools, as well as a general understanding of electronic components. Buyer assumes full responsibility for the installation of this replacement battery.

Step 1:

Using the included phillips screwdriver remove the four screws from the back case cover.

Step 2:

Remove the black, plastic piece from the top of the PDA by pulling upward, away from the PDA. Set this piece aside for reassembly.

Step 3:

With the black piece removed, carefully remove the back case cover, starting at the top of the PDA. Once the cover is removed, use the included phillips screwdriver to remove the two screws at the bottom of the motherboard.

Step 4:

To remove the battery you will need access to the bottom of the motherboard. Disconnect the black and red speaker power cable from the motherboard. The motherboard can be freed by pushing the small clip at the bottom away from the motherboard. The motherboard should still be attached to the case on one side, but you should have enough clearance to get at the battery power cable.

Step 5:

To disconnect the battery, pull the power connector away from the socket on the motherboard. You can use your finger or the tip of a screwdriver to assist. Do not pull on the power cable itself.

Step 6:

Remove the battery from the PDA by pulling the power cable through the hole the cable is threaded through. The new battery power cable will fit through this hole and will wrap under the motherboard just like the original. Connect the new battery by pushing its power cable into the socket with your finger or the tip of a screwdriver.

Begin reassembly, by reconnecting the speaker cable and reseating the motherboard within the case. Put back the two motherboard screws and snap on the back case cover. Reattach the black plastic top piece and put the four remaining screws back into the back case cover.

Your new battery will need a minimum of three hours of charging before first use.
